Hampden County Achievement Award
In October 2004, Kathy Selvia received the Hampden County Achievement Award, given by the Western Massachusetts Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame at an induction dinner at the Log Cabin Banquet and Meeting House. Her company was named one of the top 100 women-led businesses in the state, based on 2003 revenues. It was her third time on the list developed annually by the Center for Women’s Leadership at BabsonCollege and the Commonwealth Institute in Boston. Nominees were required to:
- start or substantially grow a business in one of the four Western Mass. counties, and have acted in a capacity to promote entrepreneurship in this area
- demonstrate vision and willingness to take appropriate risks in growing a business
- demonstrate innovation by taking the business to new heights or by approaching business in creative ways, and
- show a commitment to the community through leadership by giving of personal time and/or resources.
